Currently, Dr. Cata is a Term-Tenure Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he also holds the position of Vice-Chair for Clinical Research. He has published 275 manuscripts. His research, primarily focused on perioperative outcomes in cancer patients, has received funding from the NIH, various foundations, and industry sources. Dr. Cata has served as Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, or Site Director for clinical studies published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
