Dr Johnston is a consultant anaesthetist working in the Belfast Trust across the Royal Victoria Hospital and Musgrave Park Hospital sites. He completed a regional anaesthesia fellowship in London, Ontario in 2015. He is an ESRA European Diploma in RA examiner and his clinical interests include peri-operative research lead in acute pain management, service development of ambulatory blockroom services in elective orthopaedic and emergency/trauma centres as well as lecturing anatomy at the Queen’s University of Belfast.
