Nabil Elkassabany is the John C Rowlingson Professor of Anesthesiology and the vice chair of clinical operations in the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Virginia (UVA). He is also the Medical Director of the operating rooms at UVA. His research focuses on patients’ outcomes after orthopedic surgery, specifically patient who receives RA in different clinical settings. He is especially interested improving patient outcomes after major joint arthroplasty and defining the value added by regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine to patients’ perioperative experience.
