After my critical care fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), I led the POCUS initiative at the Anesthesiology department at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) as the director of perioperative ultrasound since 2007. In 2022, I joined the Anesthesiology Department at the Hospital for Special Surgery and continue to be part of the POCUS education effort. I am a member of the ASA POCUS editorial board and my goal is to improve perioperative outcomes through the safe use of POCUS in the field of anesthesiology.
